Mostly Friends Only

(Friends Only banner made by [info]makeyousyn)

This journal is now mostly friends-only. While I do still make a lot of public entries, an increasing number of entries are friends-locked. I have my reasons.

If you want to be added, please leave a comment here (or just add me), and I will probably add you back.

I have no idea why this is so awesome.

That is all. ("Sentai dash!")

Games, gatecrashed BBQs, and other stuff

So, I continue to neglect my LJ and IJ (and I remember the days when I used to update practically every day). I just haven't felt the need to update about much, really.

So, some random news:

I completed Silent Hill: Homecoming a week or so again, gonna play through it again and get all the other endings. Personally, I love it - it isn't my favourite SH and it is lacking in... something that the other games have, but I don't hate it, unlike 90% of the fandom seems to. But that's just me.

On that note, I think that Scarlet has got to be one of my favourite boss fights in the history of Silent Hill, along with the first Pyramid Head fight in SH2. The former is quite tough but not overly frustrating, and I love her design - fucking creepy though it may be. XD

I think I may start Wet as my next game. I still need to complete Bayonetta's Hard Mode, but I've been neglecting that for a little while. As I have with Dragon Age. Jeez, I need to get off my ass and complete that. I need to hear more Shale and Leliana banter.

I've also been getting more trophies on Katamari Forever, too. With that in mind, have an appropriate icon. :D (Someone needs to write that as a crack-fuelled crossover of awesomeness, if it doesn't already exist.)

In other news, Sheldon decided to organise a late evening barbeque at Ninesprings on Saturday, so me and Euan went after I finished work. We met Sheldon's new girlfriend - who I'm not sure if I like or not - and hung around with a load of his friends (some of whom we'd met before, others we hadn't). It was all going great until we got gatecrashed by a couple of random drunks, and their presence slowly caused everyone to leave, even after the drunks themselves left - Sheldon said the following day that everyone was on edge as a result, so no-one wanted to stick around. And, no, don't worry, nothing bad happened, they were more of an annoyance than anything else, but one got the feeling that they could cause some trouble if we happened to do or say the "wrong thing". Especially since one of them kept bragging about how he'd been stabbed a few days prior and had just left hospital. The other one was bragging about how he'd been in prison. Charming. I really hate this town sometimes, not to mention most of the people in it.

Also, my dad's going on holiday to Greece next month. I found out from Dean at the factory. Ha ha, way to wait in telling me, dad. XD

Now, to attempt that bastard of a Katamari trophy once more - the one I'll get if I make a Katamari over 2,000,000 km high. Yup. Been attempting to get that one for ages. "Get a life", you say? What is this "life" of which you speak? ^_^

Night night, all.

We're baaaack

Well, we're back from our holiday. :D We had a lovely time, though it is good to be home. <3

Proper update later, at some point.

'Cos it's 60 pages of scary bullshit

I was going to make a proper update, but... I got distracted by other things. Not only that, but I feel like watching a movie and I need to wash my hair.

So have a Russell Howard skit instead. Because the Daily Mail deserves to be ripped into. XD

Stop-motion Katamari

This is just awesome:

Baaaaaack

Me and Euan are now back from Southampton. :D It was a good weekend, but we're glad to be home.

Proper update later.

This:

is so true. XD

(I can't stop laughing at the title of the song I'm listening to.)

Oh for fuck's sake

Okay. So, my Mp3 player (which is, by the way, less than a year old) has just suddenly decided to stop working for no reason whatsoever. It won't turn on properly (it shows the product logos as always, but it doesn't go any further than that and just turns itself off after a couple of seconds), it won't let me charge it, the computer won't recognise it, and pressing the reset button doesn't work.

To add insult to injury, the so-called "support" section of the website doesn't seem to provide a shred of, y'know, actual decent support.

It was working perfectly fine the other day, too. Ugh.

Hurr hurr, remember this?

Remember this game, guys? Yep, it's MASH!

I already did one with some real-life crushes of mine, but this time I thought I'd bung in a bunch of random game characters to see what it came up with:

Behold... My Future
I will marry Bayonetta.
After a wild honeymoon, We will settle down in a sex dungeon in our fabulous House.
We will have 7000 kid(s) together.
Our family will zoom around in a fluorescent pink limosine.
I will spend my days as a superhero, and live happily ever after.
whats your future

*ROFL*

I just hope I'm not the one to pop out 7000 kids. Bayonetta's a freaking all-powerful witch; she can take it. XD

And, wow, that vehicle is totally subtle.

Back after Easter

Hope everyone had a good Easter!

So, tomorrow is when I start temping at the factory again. I'm nervous but looking forward to it at the same time. Guess I'll have to start getting to bed early again.

Because I've been in need of some for a while, I went to town earlier and bought myself a pair of waterproof trousers. I also got myself a new backpack, mainly for the job starting tomorrow, as my old one still has embarrassing school graffiti on it and smells odd. (My fault... I accidentally left a bag of doughnuts in there and promptly forgot they existed. Classy.)

I also bought a cheap pair of tracksuit bottoms with pockets - they'll be handy for when I start jogging again. It's quite hard to find a pair that actually have pockets, so it was nice to find some for a good price.

Yesterday, I went with my mum and sister to visit my grandparents again. My auntie was there this time, too - haven't seen her in a couple of years or so.

Kick-Ass... kicks ass.

Earlier, me and Jem went to the cinema to see an advanced showing of Kick-Ass. It did, indeed, kick ass. I love it. I also kind of adore Hit Girl. :D (As evidenced by the fact I just went searching for icons of her and uploaded one of them.)

So, yeah, I'm definitely getting that bad boy on Blu-Ray once it's released.

In other news, I had my mock interview with my tutor at the course (it's required to complete my file), and, in spite of my nerves, I learned during the feedback that it was apparently one of the best ones they'd had. Apparently I was very confident. Eh, I suppose I was. It may have been a little different if it was an actual job interview, though.

Anyway, I'd best be off now. Laters! <3

Pleasant day at work, for the most part

I had a pretty good day at work today. I was barely out on the shop floor at all, because I was given the task of shrinkwrapping a load of unpackaged products that wouldn't fit out onto the shelves - so, when I wasn't checking to see if it would go out or not, I spent most of the time in the warehouse, blissfully away from customers, with my shrinkwrap roll. :) It was nice to have a bit of peace and quiet.

I was also pleased to find the fifth and latest Georgina Kincaid book, Succubus Shadows, for sale in the store, even cheaper than it is on Amazon (I was originally going to buy it from there, but I put it off on account of needing to save my money). However, I've been anticipating the book's release for a while, and, for this price, I couldn't resist. It's quite rare that the store actually stocks novels I'm interested in, let alone urban fantasy, so it was a pleasant surprise.

I won't read it until I've finished The Dead Zone, though - I have a strict rule that I only read one book at a time. I'd get a bit bogged down, otherwise.

Anyway, I really need to go eat some pasta now.

Will you just look at these... breasts.

Had Jem over for the day today. :D T'was fun. She's now started watching Black Books with me and Euan after catching part of it on telly the other day. Win.

I also fancied going for a walk, for the fun of it as well as to go and grab myself an application form for a job, but, in stark contrast to the past few days, it decided to piss down with rain. Fail. Me and Jem braved the weather anyway, barely shielded from it with one of my rather wobbly umbrellas.

Aaaand, as I have nothing else constructive to say, have a random .gif:

It's so hypnotic. I CAN'T STOP WATCHING.

Mar. 17th, 2010

It's not often that I wish I had my Google searches filtered, but sometimes...

When I'm looking on Google images for tattoo designs, I do NOT want to be bombarded with images of scat porn, thanks.

*goes off to bleach eyeballs*

This *points* is the greatest icon in the history of ever.

So, yeah, I've been booked in for my Level 2 Numeracy exam next week. So going to fail that one. :\

...I, uh, was going to update about something else, but I've completely forgotten what. Oh well.

Dad's 50th, and bad news for mum's car

It's my dad's 50th birthday today, so me and Alice took him to Prezzo, a posh Italian restaurant in town. I'd never been in there before, but I think I'll definitely be going again - it's really nice in there and the food was great. Plus, one of the waiters was kind of hot, so I'm not complaining. *pervs shamelessly*

Now for some bad news: yesterday, my mother managed to crash her car. o_O I only found out today from Alice - I called mum later about it and she said she forgot to ring me due to the stress of the incident. Apparently, she braked too hard to avoid rear-ending someone, and, because the road was wet, she skidded and did end up crashing into them (if the road was dry, it was unlikely she would have crashed). She isn't hurt, thank God - apart from a few aches and twinges - and apparently the car doesn't look too bad at all, but there may be a fair bit of damage to the radiator. That, and because the car's slightly old and she got it second hand in the first place, it might end up being a write-off. D:

In other news, I'm trying to brush up on my maths skills again, in order to try and take the Level 2 Numeracy exam, but I'm finding it really difficult at the moment. I'm pretty sure that the person who invented long division is an evil genius.

Nice weather for Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day, for those of you in the UK. :)

I'm going with my mother and sister to see my nan & grampy a little later. It's a lovely day outside, slightly cold but nice and sunny, so it'll be nice to go for a walk around the village in that weather (once mum's torn herself away from Formula 1, anyway).

Laters!

Mar. 10th, 2010

...Huh.

I had one of weirdest dreams ever last night. I dreamt that I got myself a couple of tattoos, both fairly large (including a large dragon on my right bicep), except they only took about five seconds to do, they barely hurt at all, and they healed straight away. They were performed out in the open by a tattoo artist at a car boot sale. One of the stalls was selling a huge stack of bibles and the one opposite was selling used sex toys.

There was also a large, uninhabited but well-furnished castle, surrounded by ruins. Oh, and some weight-lifting activities.

Later on, there was carnage when a whole bunch of people started getting suffocated in these large glass pods, and others got sliced to bits by flying, broken panes of glass. After all the carnage, I went inside this ground floor block of apartments, one of which was bright pink on its interior, and I met up with some blonde woman who I apparently knew, and also Euan, who was lying in bed.

...There were also sentient wind-up toys.

Oh, and the dream had Michael Schumacher, Trinity from The Matrix, and Cyclops from the X-Men movies making random cameos.

...T'was odd.

Aaaand it's back

As of early this morning, the whole PS3 issue has been fixed. Whoot!
